Tom Coldwell - Director of R&D

Tom Coldwell is a serial technology executive and R&D leader with a definitive track record of transforming complex engineering concepts into highly valuable commercial assets. Specializing in Agentic AI, Cognitive Robotics, and Cybersecurity, Tom has repeatedly guided venture-backed innovations from the laboratory to successful market exits, orchestrating acquisitions by industry giants such as Cisco Systems, ViaSat, Webroot, and Titan Cloud. 

His career is defined by his ability to identify emerging technology trends and execute rapid productization strategies. After leaving a senior position at Microsoft to join the startup world, Tom served as an executive at Atcom/Info, where he helped lead the company through two consecutive acquisitions—the final by Cisco Systems—achieving valuation multiples of approximately 20× and 34× revenue. 

Tom’s formula for R&D success has been replicated across multiple ventures:

• Techniche: As CTO, he conceptualized and launched Techniche EV, a strategic product line that directly catalyzed the company's acquisition by Titan Cloud.
• CyberFlow Analytics: Co-founded with former AT&T CTO Dr. Hossein Eslambolchi, this venture pioneered behavioral analytics in cybersecurity and was acquired by Webroot.
• LonoCloud: As President, Tom led this cloud computing innovator to an acquisition by ViaSat.

Currently, Tom serves as CTO for both NXT Robotics and EcoSec Works, where he is pioneering the convergence of physical and digital security.

• At NXT Robotics, he is leading the evolution of Agentic AI SecOps, integrating cognitive robotics and autonomous agents to redefine smart city security. He oversees the Robotogo.ai platform, which fuses multi-sensor telemetry, computer vision, and mobile telepresence into an AI-driven Security Operations Center (SOC) capable of real-time threat response.
• At EcoSec Works, he is deploying Gen-AI-based cybersecurity solutions designed to protect critical EV charging infrastructure and renewable energy ecosystems from adversarial threats.

Tom is a member of the Forbes Technology Council and InfraGard (a partnership between the FBI and the private sector for critical infrastructure protection). He holds a patent in State-based entity behavior analysis (US 11792075) 

Tom earned his MS in Engineering & Computer Science from California Polytechnic State University.
